A Delightful Place to Eat, Read, and Sip Coffees and Teas in Beautiful Historic Downtown Hanover, PA.

Converted from an old Church, the huge, graceful ceiling reminds one of a medieval setting filled with books.  There are nooks to eat in with a bit of privacy, or look down on it all from the mezzanine.  There's a wondrous variety of new and used books from the latest best-sellers to a fun, kid's section.

Since it is in Hanover, history titles abound.  Some historians claim that the Battle of Gettysburg really started with the Battle of Hanover where Union and Confederate mounted forces clashed.  General George Armstrong Custer passed right by here and General J.E.B Stuart made his famous leaping dash nearby, too.

Most Fridays feature Live Entertainment.

A Place to See Your Friends

The view from the Mezzanine is  a delight.  There are tables to eat, enjoy your beverages and find that special book.  Spot your neighbor coming in the door or watch the cappucino machine in action.  The drinks are usually prepared in the front.  The kitchen is in the back. (some secrets just have to be hidden).  There's even a clearance table with a variety of bargain books with way-low prices.  The Readers Cafe is the Downtown place to hang-out.
