You've been popping around on the internet, trying to find that particular look, and you just can't seem to find what you're searching for. Maybe it's an unusual shirt that is made like something you saw in a photograph. Perhaps it is a dress that you saw in a Gody's Lady's Book picture. Let's start sharing ideas and see what we can come up with for you.
Unusual Sizes.
In the 1860's the idealized lady's figure included a narrow, high waist that was tightened into position by a corset. A big hoop skirt and wide, sloping shoulders helped to accentuate this narrow waist look. But, we are now solidly into the new millenium. (some, more solidly than others) So, let's face it. We're not all the same. And why is it that we seem to be getting bigger as the years go by?
And Men, Too!
The off-the-rack stuff just doesn't fit anymore. That coat that goes around your belly has sleeves that hang down to your knees. Well, the soldiers in the Civil War had to put up with that - but you don't. That's why you need to a Civil War Tailor to custom fit to your measurements.

A Real Tailor in the Field
Measure Three Times Cut Once
This rule has lasted through the years and it was a wise woman who invented it. Okay - so maybe it was a carpenter who first said it, but it is very true that you need to be accurate in your measurements. Knowing what your real belly size is will help us to make exactly the fit you deserve. When we discuss your measurements, we really want you to measure three times. It's for your own good looks and comfort. You may think you are still a 36 waist, but if you are pushing a 40, there is no reason to walk around feeling like stuffed cabbage.
Your measurements are a Secret
We promise not to tell.
In the Field and in Camp
You have seen our uniforms on artillery, cavalry, and infantry soldiers. We make them look good by proportionate tailoring that compensates for irregular curves - beer bellies, donut bottoms, and froggy necks. You can still look soldier sharp with a few extra pounds on.
Children's Clothing is a Specialty
Children's Clothing
There is hardly anything more adorable than children dressed up in period clothing. It is one hundred percent heart-melt. Grandparent and parents both like to see their young'ins looking like characters in "Little House on the Prairie".
Yet, it's still hard to find period clothes to fit your kids that is affordable. We appreciate that and we do a lot of clothing custom-made for kids. And our turn-around time is fast, too.
